Titles are the hardest thing

I’m really thinking about a random title generator, I can never think off those things.

Anyway a few new things to talk about, I’ve been looking into doing google summer of code however it looks like it starts duringmy summer examinations so that could be a problem. I was planning to take a trip around europe for a month during the summer, this is probably going to be the last chance I can do it as next year I will definatly be doing a summer internship (this is something i’ve been putting off, i’ll get into that later).

I’ve been learning yet more things over the last few weeks, I’m finally feeling comftable using linux. Its definiatly my home now. I’ve started using LaTex, I really like the idea off it but have never really had an excuse to use it yet. Well I obviously got the excuse, I had a Theory of Computing assigment (in discrete maths) and also the docuementation for my SEG (Software Engineering Group) project is coming around and If you’ve ever tried looking at two word documents in diff on an SVN you’ll get why I want to use SVN, i had a little experiment and it was a little painful.

I’ve also started using VIM to take my notes with and code in. Agian like linux it took a little while to get used too, i raced through the vim-tutor (mistake) and forgot most of it. I will probably repeat it at somepoint but not got the time these days.

Now something a little (not) exciting, i managed to get my university email forwarding to my webhost’s. I like to use RoundCube and i have both an account on here and a gmail however since i joined southampton university i need to use that one as well because i get alot of important emails however i’m forced to use microsoft exchange.  NO MORE!

Now why can’t i just use the in-built forwarding function? Oh wait? There isn’t one? Yes its rediculus….

Using fetchmail i have been able to set up a forwarder listening to my imap at university and redirecting these messages to my roundcube webmail on this server. It has a handy daemon mode which allows it to run in the background and update at a defined time period.

Now, im going to watch some pd.

Ciao.
