well i’ve left it as FAT32 for now, i don’t think i’ll end up getting any files over 4gb’s.

My main worry is for storing large video files such as full DVD’s or uncompressed video from fraps. It’s a small enough problem not to concern me for the moment but i’ll have to see when i get linux installed on the other HD over the next few days.

Fat32 is a good format to go with. You shouldn’t be too concerned about the file limit. The limit only applies to how big a single file can be, but the actual partition can be as large as you want.
But if your still concerned (that must be one long song…) I believe that Ext3 has a limit of 8GB.

Or you can wait and adopt Ext4

Hey darius, nice post, despite its gargantuan-ness.
As for File system. NTFS > FAT32, it’s just that linux is inferior Seriously though, if you’ve done your revision properly for these exams you’ll know that FAT32 sucks. Bigger table with more space used etc.

“465GB out of the 500″ it’s sad i know why that is.
